Let’s learn Simple Past tense.
Past Simple tense is used to talk about something that happened in the past and ended in the past, specifying when the action occurred.
In Simple Past, we use (verb 2) with singular and plural pronouns.
- Regular verbs end with d, ed ,ied. For example: help-helped, study-studied, care-cared.
- I watched a movie yesterday evening.
- Irregular verbs. For example: eat-ate, write-wrote.
- They bought a new car last month.
Key words: Last …… last week, last month, last year, last summer. Yesterday, ago, to mention any specific date (1995, in September 2020).

1- Affirmative Sentence الجملة المثبتة
Subject + Past Verb (verb 2) + Object
Examples:
• I traveled to Paris last summer.
• She was tired yesterday.
2- Negative Sentence الجملة المنفية
Subject + did not (didn’t) + Base Verb (verb 1) + Object
Example: She didn’t finish her homework.
3- Interrogative Sentence الجملة الاستفهامية
Did + Subject + Base Verb (verb 1) + Object?
Example: Did you call your friend?
