A . The Future Continuous
Use:
We use the Future Continuous (will be + verb-ing) to talk about a continuous action in the future.
Form: |
Subject + will be + verb- ing + ……. Subject + won't be + verb –ing + …. Will + subject + be + verb- ing + ….? |
This time next year, they will be preparing for their final exams.
What will we be doing in ten years’ time?
In three years' time, I'll be studying medicine.
I will be watching TV when she arrives tonight.
Some helpful expressions:
- This time tomorrow, this time next (year, month, week, term…)
- in (ten years) time/ in four weeks time.....
- tomorrow at three o'clock. Tomorrow at this time…
- All Sunday / tonight / this afternoon / on Sunday morning, afternoon/ tomorrow night.
- Don’t (phone, call) someone (at, after) ten, seven….
- from two to five o'clock tomorrow.
Examples:
- Don't phone me at seven tonight, I will be having dinner with my family.
- Please be quiet when you come home tonight. The baby will be sleeping.
- What will you be doing in ten years' time?
- At this time tomorrow, we will be having an exam.
