Shaumari Wildlife Reserve is the oldest Nature Reserve in Jordan.It is a Jordanian nature reserve near the town of Azraq, approximately 100 km east of Amman.Shaumari Wildlife Reserve was established in 1975 and it is the first wildlife reserve in Jordan .Oryxes, ostriches, wild cats and gazelles live in this reserve. The Oryx can often be seen roaming freely in the desert .There is a small "zoo" for visitors, making the reserve a suitable place for children and school trips
