This lesson introduces important airport and travel vocabulary that helps travelers navigate their journey easily. When passengers arrive after their flight, they go to the arrivals area. Before boarding, they receive a boarding pass, which allows them to enter the plane. Travelers usually book a flight in advance to reserve their seats, and some choose a budget airline for cheaper fares. If a flight is cancelled, it means it won’t happen, while a delayed flight means it will depart later than planned. At the check-in desk, passengers register and leave their luggage before going to the departure lounge to wait for boarding. The gate is where passengers enter the aircraft. They can take small bags, known as hand luggage, into the cabin. Before flying, everyone passes through security for safety checks, and trolleys are available to help carry heavy luggage around the airport.
