This text tells the story of Graham Hughes, a man from Liverpool who began an incredible solo journey on January 1, 2009. His goal was to visit every country in the world without flying, to set a Guinness World Record and raise money for charity. Graham started his trip from Argentina to Uruguay by ferry. He faced many challenges, like traveling overland, needing visas, and crossing borders. Despite difficulties, he continued his journey by hitchhiking, trains, and buses. Along the way, he met kind and hospitable people, such as an old woman in Iran who invited him for breakfast. After traveling for almost four years, Graham completed his trip by arriving in South Sudan, the world’s newest state at the time. His adventure showed courage, patience, and the kindness of people across the world.
