Saleem describes a frightening experience during a holiday when a hurricane hit. He was woken by a loud storm and initially found the thunder and lightning exciting. However, he later learned from the news that a hurricane was coming. His dad reassured him, and they stayed in the hotel room. As the weather worsened with heavy rain and strong winds, the hotel manager advised them to move to the dining room, which was considered the safest place. They took shelter there with other tourists, blocking the doors with furniture and sitting on the floor. Eventually, the storm ended, and Saleem was relieved it was over, hoping never to experience such a night again.
