is a way to express a condition that will stop something from happening, just like "if ... not". It's a shorter and simpler way to say the same thing.
How to use it:
Unless is used to talk about situations where something will not happen unless a condition is met.
Examples:
I won't have time to get it unless I go this weekend.
(This means: If I don't go this weekend, I won't have time to get it.)
She won't pass the test unless she studies hard.
(This means: If she doesn’t study hard, she won’t pass the test.)
