Present perfect with already, just and yet

🌟 Statement for Present Perfect Tense

We use the Present Perfect Tense to talk about actions or experiences that happened at an unspecified time before now — the exact time is not important.
It connects the past and the present.


🧩 Structure

Subject + have / has + past participle (V3)

🕐 Negative Form

Subject + haven’t / hasn’t + past participle
I haven’t eaten yet.
He hasn’t done his homework.


Question Form

Have / Has + subject + past participle?
Have you finished your homework?
Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t.


🧠 Time Expressions Used

 already – something happened earlier than expected.
 just – something happened a short time ago.
 yet – something hasn’t happened but is expected soon.


Examples

  • I’ve just cleaned the kitchen.
  • She’s already done her homework.
  • We haven’t eaten yet.
  • Have they arrived yet?
  • 2 Read the grammar table. Then read the rules and circle the correct options.

3 Read the dialogue in Lesson 2 again. Underline examples of already, just and yet.
