In some ways, computers are already smarter than us.
في بعض النواحي، أصبحت أجهزة الكمبيوتر أذكى منا.
They can solve problems quickly and without making mistakes.
يمكنها حل المشكلات بسرعة ومن دون أخطاء.
And they don’t need to eat or sleep, of course.
وبالطبع لا تحتاج إلى الأكل أو النوم.
But the human brain has other abilities that we can’t give computers – at least, not yet.

For instance, humans are creative.

Humans can also feel and recognise emotions.

We know, for example, when another person is in a good or bad mood.

And this ability is very important in interaction with other people.

Now scientists are studying how computers can read human emotions.

A US company is developing software that uses cameras to look at human faces.

The company collected over six million videos of people from seventy-five countries to use in their software.

However, it isn’t always possible to identify someone’s emotion from their face.

That’s why researchers developed a computer that can measure your heart and breathing wirelessly.

One robotics company already produces and sells a robot that can recognise human emotions.

But are we ready for a robot like this in our daily lives?

It even gets scared in the dark.

Yet some people are ready.

Some computer scientists believe that within fifteen years computers will understand our emotions perfectly.
