Summary:
Jordan has a high standard of education because the government is aware of the importance of education.
The Ministry of Education is the organisation that is responsible for all schools in Jordan, from kindergarten to secondary schools.
Pre-school and kindergarten education is optional.
Grade one to grade ten education is compulsory and free.
Students in higher education can enter university for academic courses or vocational courses.
There are public as well as private universities in Jordan.
Students who study in these universities are both from Jordan and from foreign countries.
The Students in the universities in Jordan are :
- Undergraduate students studying for a first degree.
- Postgraduate students studying for a Master's degree, a PhD or a higher diploma.
The three universities with the most undergraduates are:
- The University of Jordan in Amman
- Yarmouk University in Irbid
- Al Balqa Applied University in Salt.
The German-Jordanian University was set up in 2005 CE and it is a collaboration between MOHE and the Germany's Federal Ministry of education and Research.
Online distance learning programmes in some universities are good choices for students who wish to complete studies while working at the same time.
