Adverbs of Frequency tell us how often we do something.

Examples:

  • Always all the time
  • Usually most of the time
  • Sometimes not all the time
  • Never not at all

We use them before the main verb.

🔹 Example:

  • I always eat breakfast.
  • She always plays the piano.

With the verb “to be” (am, is, are), we put the adverb after the verb.

  • He is always happy.

Time Expressions also tell us how often we do something, but they are phrases, not single words.

Examples:

  • Every day all days
  • Twice a week two times a week
  • Once a month one time each month

We usually use them at the end of the sentence.

🔸 Example:

  • I brush my teeth every day.
  • I go to the gym twice a week.
