Grammar
- I am going to ask someone to redecorate my room.
I am going to have my room redecorated.
- Sara is asking the teacher to check her essay.
Sara is having her essay checked.
Modals of Possibility
Must: sure, certain, certainly, definitely.
- I am sure that she is a dentist.
She must be a dentist.
can't: sure, certain + negative sentence, impossible.
- I am sure that she isn't a liar.
She can't be a liar.
Might: possible, possibly, likely, not sure, perhaps, maybe.
- It's possible that dad will come early tonight.
Dad might come early tonight.
For possibilities in the past, we use :
must/ can't, might + have + V3
- I am sure she took the money from my bag.
She must have taken the money from my bag.
If clause (types 0+1+2)
Type zero:
If + subject +V (present simple)..., subject +V(present simple)
If you water the plant, it grows.
Type one:
If + subject +V (present simple)..., subject + will + base verb
If you play football all day, you won't have time to study.
Type two:
If + subject +V (past simple)..., subject + would+ base verb
If I had enough money, I would buy a new house.
